The wall starter and starter sockets are the connecting devices most commonly used to connect the modular soft wiring to the fixed wiring of the building.

This is always a female connector.

Wall starters are generally positioned in the same location as you might use a conventional power outlet, except in this case they are a dedicated latching 20A socket and are at the commencement of the softwired circuitry.
