Umbilicals are specifically designed to provide a neat and tidy solution to the problem of reticulating power and data cables from the ceiling space or from under the floor to the workstation. At the same time the umbilical is required to protect the cables from mechanical damage and to prevent any undue stress being imposed on the power and data cables should the installed system come under tension. To achieve this the umbilical has a 150kg breaking strain stainless steel cable run through its entire length. Various alternate end terminations are available which include floor weights, cable grippers, floor grommets, floor boxes and ceiling boxes.

The systems also have ‘pass-thru’ ceiling grommets for each type of umbilical.
